10. Freshness!

The immediate thought that springs to mind with Brock Lesnar as Champion is just how refreshing it feels. In every way imaginable, this is totally different from the norm. Results in this manner don’t usually happen. With Brock’s dominant return to glory we have something new to behold.
The Beast hasn’t been champion in ten years, in which time we’ve got used to an almost annual reign of John Cena. The fact that Cena has been a fifteen champion in the space of nine years says it all, he’s been overexposed and has started to feel stale.
Brock coming in to replace him as Champion is a complete facelift to WWE. It isn’t just a fresh character, it’s an entirely fresh business model. We now have a part time superstar who won’t be there every week. That isn’t a bad thing. By only having Lesnar at selected shows it makes the championship feel more prestigious. Forget seeing him for free, the champion is better than that, you’re going to have to pay for him.
It’s a fresh approach to WWE’s booking and it can’t be any worse than the cookie-cutter championship runs we’ve seen in recent years. The character and presentation of Lesnar feels fresh. No other person on the roster could have brought that air of change. Lesnar just has ‘it’, a certain x factor that makes things more interesting.
