5. Ric Flair

Like Ricky Steamboat, Flair was never the biggest, fastest, or strongest, and he was never the absolute best at any single trait in the ring. What he could do, however, was put everything together like it was in his blood. They used to say that Flair could wrestle a broom and carry it to a four-star match, and that really seemed true. It didn’t matter if his opponent was big, small, strong, fast, or anything in between… Flair knew how to get that guy over, make him look like a million bucks, and still save some room to make himself look great. He made a living off of that as the NWA World CHAMPION. Promoters from all over the globe wanted to bring him in to defend the title against their territory’s biggest name. Fans would never have the “it’ll be the same old crap with Flair winning” mentality for his matches then. They always thought “their guy” had a good chance of winning and becoming the new champion.
Flair has had his share of great matches in four different decades, which shows you the type of longevity he has maintained. He has always been able to adapt with the times, working a style that fit in during the 70′s, 80′s, 90′s, and 2000′s, all while still being “The Nature Boy”. He doesn’t get the praise and adulation he gets from his peers in the BUSINESS for nothing, folks.
