3. Step Eight – Awaiting The Next Challenger
On the same night that Batista gets a beat down from the Beast (for arguments sake), Brock’s next challenger for the WWE Championship will be identified. It’s widely expected that Roman Reigns will go one better than last year and win the Royal Rumble match to set a date with the champion at WrestleMania 31.
After all, the former muscle of The Shield is considered WWE’s ‘golden boy’ at the moment, and he’s eventually set for a big time title run. He’s not ready yet since there are some elements of his character that he needs to improve, but by this time Reigns should be right in the swing of things.
Reigns’ Rumble win and subsequent title shot can easily carry the show for the following weeks, leaving Lesnar able to save his remaining dates for a final run towards WrestleMania. Elimination Chamber usually follows in February time and given Lesnar may not be around to defend, Reigns should end up defending his right to challenge the champ on March 29th. Coming through the Chamber match against five other top stars would be the perfect way to invigorate Reigns going into the biggest match of his WWE career.
