8. WWE’s TV Product Should Be Viewed As A Competition Within Itself

Main roster talents in WWE are now incentivized to have great TV performances literally every time they head through the curtain. This isn’t to say that the company has become a cut-throat corporation, but with WWE’s employment expected to be cut by seven percent, the talent are likely feeling the heat when seeing wrestlers in NXT who would likely earn less and work harder than those already with spots on the roster.
Wrestling on TV should no longer be viewed as just “pro wrestling.” To a more attuned eye, the real show these days is in seeing who of the established talents are hungry and motivated to take their work to the next level in order to prove their relevance to WWE’s rapidly changing-in-talent expectation corporate hierarchy.
