7. A Heel Turn For Sheamus
Sheamus returned to WWE as a surprise entrant in the 2014 Rumble. He was out for about five months after shoulder surgery prior to that. At the time of his return, we didn’t know for sure that he was coming back at the Rumble. When he returned from that injury there was talk about how he was going to turn heel soon after.
The plan for Sheamus at WrestleMania 30 was to work as a heel against Daniel Bryan, in what would have been a rematch from their WrestleMania 28 feud. Bryan would have been able to get a win against the guy that beat him in 18 seconds. Instead, CM Punk quit the company, Bryan was placed in his spot and Sheamus ended up in a minor role as a guy that was part of the battle royal.
There are many reasons why WWE could turn Sheamus heel at any time, but when you consider that they lost Punk and Bryan got hurt, they really don’t have that many full time top babyfaces that can headline live events or participate in upper midcard storylines. Sheamus is a guy that fits in that role.
He can turn heel at any time. It just seems like WWE needs him more as a face right now.
