10. Step One – Rematch With John Cena, Night of Champions
Most title feuds come with with a rematch ready to be invoked, and Cena is going to have another crack at Lesnar at September’s Night of Champions special. The match has already been confirmed and Cena is back for another shot at the title he lost.
Cena is a good talker, and there’s little doubt he will come out and admit he got pummelled by a better man at SummerSlam. However, likely defiant, Cena will concentrate on winning his championship back from Lesnar on September 21st. But Brock’s work is done for now – there is little point wasting Lesnar’s dwindling dates by having him turn up to Raw on a weekly basis.
Paul Heyman will do all of Lesnar’s talking for him. He will be the man to look John Cena in the eye and remind him of the utter trouncing he suffered at SummerSlam, and that theme should continue through the weeks in the lead up to Night of Champions. WWE have in Lesnar’s recent history been very sensible with their video package presentations of the four-time WWE Champion, so they should utilise his highlights once more while mouthpiece Heyman does Lesnar’s selling pre-match.
Needless to say, when the match comes, Lesnar should retain. However, this one should be a closer call than their first battle. Cena needs to get close to toppling the Beast before eventually being downed by another F5.
