10 Reasons Brock Lesnar Is The Champion WWE Needs Right Now

The dominant victory over John Cena at SummerSlam reinvigorated the WWE.

Brock Lesnar battered John Cena in WWE’s SummerSlam Championship main event. It wasn’t just a title transition, it was a full on destruction. Some are even describing it as a squash match, pointing to how Lesnar carried 95% of the action. We wouldn’t go that far, Cena did have flurries, including hitting his Attitude ADJUSTMENT finisher and STFU submission hold. Be in no doubt about it though, this was one of the most one sided wins a heel has ever had over a babyface champion.
What made it all the more shocking is Cena’s franchise stature. Could you ever imagine Austin or Hogan getting destroyed so one sidedly when champion? No, it just wouldn’t happen.
Ironically, sections of the internet wrestling community immediately took to SOCIAL MEDIA and started decrying Brock’s victory last night. People opined that WWE had been too bold in their booking, hurting their full time roster for a short term headline from a part timer. The funny thing is, those were the same fans who bemoaned Cena as champion. Now they dislike the Brock result? WWE just can’t win it seems, some fans just like to have something to complain about.
In our opinion at WhatCulture, booking Lesnar as Champion was the right move to make. Furthermore, the manner of his victory was also a smart piece of creative. We are at an interesting time in wrestling industry history, and Brock Lesnar is the champion WWE needs right now. This feature will BACK UP that statement, looking at why Brock and his one sided title win really was best for business.
