10 WWE Stars Who Always Looked Way Better With Beards 9

9. Hollywood Hogan

When Hulk Hogan shocked moms, dads and kiddies across the globe by turning heel and telling them to “stick it” in 1996, it began a brand new era for Hulkster and made him way more relevant than he was while facing revolutionary stars such as Zodiac and the Yetti a year earlier. As earthshaking as the heel turn was, it took the iconic Superstar a bit to catch his appearance up with his new attitude.
Hogan appeared on Monday Nitro sporting all black with his trademark yellow mustache, looking like an orange, oiled-up retiree getting ready for an Iron Maiden concert. It did not quite mesh. Shortly thereafter, he appeared with a black beard that looked like a shoe polish special but added that final element to put over his change in demeanor. With success of the New World Order and the boom in business that WCW experienced in the late 90s, Hogan’s face was plastered all over media, marketing materials and merchandise.
Somehow, the images would not have been quite as effective if the face staring back at the consumer was that of the prayer-saying, vitamin-taking Hulkster that fans had come to know and love.
