6. John Cena And Nikki Bella

It’s another couple from Total Divas except this pair isn’t married. John Cena was married to a woman named Elizabeth from 2009 to the summer of 2012 and when that ended he started dating WWE diva Nikki Bella, who is the “bigger” of the two twins.
When they’re on Total Divas it looks awkward at times, but there’s also the sense that Cena generally cares about her. It seems like they always have the same storyline with Nikki wanting to marry John while he says no. He also has told her many times that he absolutely does not want children either.
There have been references to the couple on screen like when Bray Wyatt talked about Cena’s “plastic” girlfriend or when Nikki has said things about Cena, but they haven’t used it in storylines. Part of the reason is they probably want female viewers to remain attracted to Cena and saying that he was dating a girl on the show would hurt his standing with the female viewers. You hear those cheers from women in the crowd? They would likely go away if WWE pushed Cena’s real life relationship on the show.
Whatever their future is, it’s cool that they are able to balance their lives the way they have. For a guy in Cena’s position it can’t be easy, but that’s why it makes sense that he would date a woman that understood what his business life is really like.
