10 Reasons CM Punk Should Stay Retired And Never Return To WWE 1

by Unknown  |  at  06:32

1. He Has Nothing Left To Prove

As we discussed in an earlier entry, CM Punk is a guy who was once in love with the business of professional wrestling. He put his body on the line and worked hard every night, having incredible matches in front of miniscule groups of fans in tiny “arenas” while he dedicated himself to his craft and hones his skills into the elite performer he eventually became. This isn’t a guy who was never a fan but got into the business in hopes of earning big bucks.
But it doesn’t appear that man exists anymore. The politics of WWE and the rigors of life on the road seem to have taken the toll from him and sapped from him all his passion. At only 35 years of age, he’s already become the jaded “get off my lawn, kid” crotchety old veteran who bemoans the current crop of wrestlers and pines for the glory years of “back in his day”.
The CM Punk from a few years ago would never have sleepwalked through this year’s Royal Rumble in the same way that the 2014 Punk did. He looked haggard, beat up and worn down and gave absolutely zero f*cks about being in there. And everyone noticed it. It’s no coincidence he walked out directly after that show.
Wrestling isn’t a career that you can half*ss your way through. You’ve either got to be 100% committed to the business and everything that entails or you need to find something else to do with your life. If he’s truly lost his love for the game, then he’s better off staying at home.
